Fall is here!

Greetings Customers:

Fall is here and it’s time to start brewing again! The weather is perfect to sit out in the cooler, open air with our brew pots bubbling with a new invention.

A lot has been going on here on the farm. We are considering relocating the shop to downtown New Albany. The customers I have spoken to thus so far have been in favor of it. If you have any ideas or comments about it, please let me know. The move will mean that I will again be open full time hours and be centrally located. With that being said, I need to decrease inventory so I won’t have as much to move. Starting in October and through November we will have a MOVING SALE 5% OFF total sales. Take advantage of this offer and plan for Christmas.

This year I will not have a Brew-In due to all the planning involved with the possible move. But see below for some brewing related offers…

I have parts and pieces of corny kegs I would like to get off my hands. They are ball locks but they are not complete. If you need some replacement parts then stop by, look at what I have and make an offer. I also have pin lock kegs that are ready to go. (According to my wholesale brewery company, ball locks will become obsolete.)

***DISCONINTUED PRODUCTS***
The carb-tabs are no longer being made. I have been trying to get them for some time, so if you were on the list to get some, I do apologize, but I don’t think we are going to be able to get them now.
Also those wonderful re-usable synthetic T-corks will not be made any longer either. When our on hand stock is sold, I will not be able to order anymore.

***DISCONTINUED WINE KITS***
Bourgeron Rouge
Chenin Banc (One in Stock)
Breezin Orange Passion and Pink Grapefruit Shiraz
I will not know of additional wine kits being discontinued until placing an order.

A break in the weather is here!

Greetings Customers;

Well I don't know about your garden but the weeds have been very happy with this dry HOT weather. I hope yours has done better. It's cooling off and it's time to make wiane and beer.Kids are back in school and now we have more time. OK so that may not apply to everyone.

Mark your calendars; There will be a canning class August 27th 9am to 12:00. The fee is $10. We will make Jelly, Chutney, something with a water bath method and demonstrate pressure canning. You will take home a jar of jelly. There will be breakfast and beverage available.Please call and make a reservation. Be prepared to work and have fun.

The sale for August:

But $25 in canning supplies, spices, or mixes and recieve a free vegetable brush.

I will be taking inventory the week of the 15th and will get ready for an order. Please call in with what you want me to order for you. Wine kits, beer kits and bulk items will be ordered. Call in with your list and they will be added.

I hope the weather holds on to the cool side.Enjoy the rest of your summer.Let's get brewing!

Don't forget that I am availabe some days and can get supplies to you if you call and let me know. I am aware that some of you are on 2nd shift, and I want to be able to take care of your needs. Thanks again to everyone for all your support for the past 5 years. I want to also welcome the new custmers as well.

May is the month to plant a seed.

Greetings customers;

Weather you plant a real seed or a seed of trust and faith,it's all good! A lot of changes have come to pass in all our lives and the history books. Take this time to give thanks.

I am also writing you all to let you know there will be changes in my business hours. You are my priority in this business but changes have to come in these times of uncertainty. Please always call for any urgent needs and we will try to fulfill them.

New hours will start after May 14th;

No day time business hours during the week.

Wed. & Thur. 6pm to 8pm.Only

Saturday 11am to 5pm

Now on the bright side I will have a sale during the month of May.

Buy a wine kit and purchase 1 case of 750ml bottles green or clear for $2.00. This does not apply to specialty bottles. Buy a beer kit and purchase 1 case of 12 or 22oz beer bottles. This will only last as supplies last.

I hope this will help you get ready for all the Summer parties.

Come in and see the selection on hand. I have new wine kits I have never carried before. I think you will like to try something new.

The rain is putting a damper on our crops, but we have lots of blooms on the strawberry field. We can only hope that this years production will be better then the last.Perhaps we will see you during picking time. Derby day is a good day to plant the garden, and may be your only sure bet.

Hello Spring!

Greetings Customers;

It's been a while since the last newsletter. The weather this winter has really slowed things down.Including wine and beer making. I can tell spring is coming because the beer makers are on the move.It just took a little sunshine to motivate everyone.

I am getting ready myself ordering fruiting bushes and another crop of strawberries to tend to. I am always looking for new fruits to make jelly out of. And of couse if it makes good jelly, then it will always make good wine too. I hope you too are planning for the spring and summer crops.

I plan to put in a truck order by the end of March, so if you are wanting something big, or a large quantity of something, now is the time to let me know. It is the only time I order Wine kits.I have several to order for customers, so be looking at your list.

With the gas prices as they are, shipping has also gone up. Check your inventory to see if larger bulk items may be of benifit to you.

I am already planning for canning season. I expect a lot more people to start this process again.Not only to save money, but to further benifit from your garden. It is also a much healthier way to live by. Yes it takes time but you know what's in your food and you know how it was handled. With all the food allergies that kids have now a days, I wouldn't do it any other way.

Just a note;

Greetings Customers;

I wanted to inform you that I will close the shop January 29th, due to a death in the family. Some of you met my dear Aunt Vera in the shop on occasion. So I hope you all will understand and I will be open again Monday January 31st.

I will send a news letter out soon. Sorry of any inconvience.

Thank You;

Becky Riley

Holidays are coming!

Greetings Customers;

The holidays are fast approaching and it's time to make your list and check it twice. For the month of November and December, we will have 5% off total sales. It's a good time to get a few of those wanted items for Christmas.

Attention Deer hunters! Check here for your jerky and sausage mixes. We also have herbs and spices to create your own recipe.I have jerky kits that could make a great gift. It includes the gun and spices and everything you need to make your first jerky.

There are also some unusual spices like spearmint and peppermint leaves and lemongrass  to make a great tea or to spice up a gift basket.

I have always been one to make baskets with all homemade items. I think they are always appreciated the best because of all the time and care that goes into every item. It is truly a labor of love.

So go ahead and make some Christmas jellies, wine and beer to give.What a fun way to share the holidays with friendship and time. These are the things that make the best memories.

I have a few more wine kits in the shop that I haven't had before: Piesporter and Verdicchio. I also have a true brew kit of a double IPA that has 7 different hops in it.

Let's not forget Sake. This kit makes 22 liters of sake.Sounds good to me! A great way to warm up your holidays.

If there is a special order you want me to get then let me know soon. December is a big shipping month and things take longer to get here.

Make this year a homemade holiday full of memories. Give your time with the ones you love, your friends, and those who are less fortunate. Remember the reason for the season.

God bless us Everyone!

Becky Riley
